unitycomm

This project embodies the principles of the "20-minute neighbourhood," with a vision to empower community voices through holistic co-design. From initial concept to final proposal, each stage was shaped by close collaboration with local residents, ensuring every spatial intervention responded directly to their needs.

heritage

A cornerstone of the project was preserving the site’s industrial legacy, particularly the original iron beams. By blending historic elements with innovative spatial configurations, we celebrated the building’s unique character while establishing new opportunities for communal interaction.

co-design

Through a series of interactive workshops, surveys, and collaborative modeling sessions, I engaged stakeholders across all age groups. These dialogues revealed a collective desire for flexible public spaces, extensive greenery, and the thoughtful integration of sustainable technology including solar panels and communal gardens. Central to our approach was a commitment to inclusivity, supported by digital platforms and physical prototypes that democratized decision-making.

design development

The transformation process involved extensive sketch modeling and digital experimentation. Working iteratively, we explored diverse materials and spatial forms, refining solutions that balanced function, aesthetic continuity, and environmental stewardship. Visual documentation—including diagrams, physical models, and multimedia—captured the evolution of design ideas and highlighted core strategies.
