Second skin
The Second Skin project explores the intersection of art, architecture, and adaptive technology by creating an immersive installation inspired by the dynamics of living organisms. The concept is drawn from the idea that architecture can act as a "second skin"—a protective, responsive envelope shaping the experience for its inhabitants..

Design inpiration
Rooted in biomimicry, the project investigates how natural systems adapt, regulate, and transform themselves in response to their environment. Through meticulous case studies and ongoing material research, the design evolved to prioritize flexibility, responsiveness, and sustainable resource use.
Transformativeprocess
Material Experimentation: Testing a range of flexible fabrics, membrane structures, and kinetic elements to discover ideal tactile and adaptive properties.
Iterative Modeling: Using physical prototypes and digital sketches, the team iterated on patterns and modular geometries, optimizing for both aesthetic impact and structural stability.

outcome
Second Skin emerges as a responsive envelope—an evolving architectural installation that blurs boundaries between shelter, art, and nature. It reflects a vision for future environments that are adaptive, interactive, and deeply connected to both their cultural and ecological context.
